The Material-Plasma Exposure eXperiment (MPEX), a superconducting magnet, steady-state device, is being built at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), herein referred to as "ORNL", to address the harsh conditions inside a fusion reactor.

The MPEX Diagnostic Residual Gas Analyzer (DRGA) Subsystem consists of one DRGA skid consisting of two (2) turbomolecular pumps, one (1) scroll pump, a Hiden DLS-1 quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS), a Gencoa Optix optical emission spectrometer (OES), valves, pipes, and instrumentation and controls (I&C). The DRGA skid is located on the MPEX device to provide real-time diagnostic information during MPEX operations. The DRGA skid and associated components are part of the Diagnostic Subsystem.
