The ITER Vacuum System uses ‘ITER Style’ flanges to ensure both an additional layer of confinement as well as the ability to actively monitor the vacuum joint for leaks. The flanges have been specifically developed by the IO, and therefore require a unique gasket design. Technetics, working with the IO, has developed commercially available gaskets to be procured by the IO, each Domestic Agency, sub suppliers to the ITER project, as well as other interested commercial interests. These gaskets are classified as SIC-1, QC-1. The gasket as well as Technetics have been audited by US ITER and found to be compliant with the applicable quality requirements. The gaskets must therefore be delivered with a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) asserting that the delivered hardware matches the part numbers prescribed within this Procurement Description and the associated Statement of Work (SOW) 804bed26. Note that as these are commercially available items, no technical specification is included, only the parts list.
